it may be appropriate to actually use a courseof antibiotics to assist getting rid of this gum infection. the critical thing is the timingof those antibiotics. if we give you antibiotics at the outset when there's active infectionthe gums do start to heal and they start to tighten up around that root surface. at thatstage there's infection still down there, there's calcified deposits of tartar, andthat makes it harder for me to get my instruments down there to clean. therefore my suggestionis to consider antibiotics, but after we've actually treated all the infection and removedthat tartar.
