do yorkie teeth fall out

the emerald city is prettymuch all emerald. the only thing thatisn't emerald - actually there's nothingthat isn't emerald. the grass is emerald.the dirt is emerald. every building is emerald. instead of stars, thereare emeralds. and it rains andsnows emeralds. my name is andreas nilsson,i'm the director of this - no i'm not. my name isandreas nilsson,

i'm helping the director, emily, to, you know... make her vision come alive. i'm unique because ican't see anything. you pretty much have to takeeverything off of memory... or touch...or hearing... or smell, or sound, or taste. you can't take anythingoff of your sight. people are shocked whenthey find out that emily, or anybody that'sblind, watches a movie.

what does a personwho is blind see when they watchtheir favorite movie? we asked emily. it's different because you can seethe screen and what's happening. i can only hear it. i hear the ittiest sounds, like one time in the forest in a movie, i heard the ittiest sound of a cricketand no one heard it except for me.

in some ways those inhibitions that we have that come from our sight - i mean she has none of them. i'll explain to you whatthe wicked witch of the east looks like. she was just the most interesting to listen to. and she was so charming, andwe just fell in love with her. simple as that. and when she talked to me about thestoryline of the wizard of oz she kind of, you know, described the whole universe for me.

we worked with emily to build ozexactly as she described. we all know whatthe wizard of oz characters look like, but that's with the benefit of sight. so now we have somebody who who doesn't have any light sensitivity at all who's only heard the movie and she's describing what she imaginesthese characters to be and it's completely different. [drill sounds]

the tin man would look like, like a smooth tin. his feet - i imagine his feet looking kind of strange. but his body would be thinner than a usual man because he doesn't have a heart. so, it would kind of be thinner. we wanted this to feel like--no, not feel like. we wanted this to be her visionone hundred percent. that's cool, that's cool.

what about this one? that's - hmmm, not as well done. the lion...he's the size of a chihuahuaor something. like have you ever seen a yorkie? he's about that big. so, he doesn't have any courage.he's small. he kind of walks on his hands, because he has hands and feet, and he walks on his hands... ...and kind of webbed hands.

and his face would be kind of like ahhh! i've been enjoying the challenge of trying to capture that, that mental vision she has of of the characters. so, how the scarecrow looked like to me - he had like wooden legs and he had a wooden head. but there would be wood teeth inside. his arms are like twice as long as my arms.

they are like tubes you know, and tube was filled with squirting chemicals at the thing it's trying to scare away. we are not here to say what's wrong or right. it's her to say what's wrong or right,or what is right for her vision. i think that would be it. that would be it? the hair. the tin man has a wig.

i don't know why.this is her idea. and why not? he's got a wig. i'm just going to tell you about dorothy. so, to me she wears ruby slippers made of like stone, and they're really, really pretty. is this our set? this is. this is the one.

this is the big ending scenein the - in your wizard of oz. and the scarecrow is here, and the lion is here. the tin man is here, and you are here, which is most important. of course it is. action! ♪"somewhere over the rainbow"♪ everyone has a favorite movie. that includes the eight million people inamerica with visual disabilities.

so it's one thing to actuallytake a movie and watch it, but it's another to actually be able toindependently find movies. i know that's one thing that's one thing that's a big challenge. everyone should be able to findtheir favorite movies independently. comcast is proud to introduce the firsttalking guide from xfinity. tv: on demand, press "ok" to select. movies, press up or down arrow to review. the wizard of oz. press "ok" to select.

that's a wrap on emily. [clapping] emily's oz premieresduring the 2015 academy awards. and the world will get to see will get to see what emily sees. visit emilysoz.com for more.
