hello everyone, my name is alejandro pagã¡n ruiz, you are welcome to this new experiment that occasionally i will expose you my little endodontic tips. the first tip is that before introducing any bur or file we observe, carefully analyze our initial radiograph. we will provide a lot of information. one aspect to consider is that the endodontic treatment does not end with root canal treatment itself. ends with reconstruction.
we must therefore see the clinical and radiographic caries extension to thereby determine whether we will be able to make our reconstruction or not and therefore whether it will be worth doing our root canal treatment. the second aspect that i notice is the radiographic shape and density of the pulp chamber. sometimes we will find radiopaque pulp chambers indicating the presence of pulp stones. we will make more difficult the location , negotiation and instrumentation of root system , which we previously have to remove.
another aspect before making our opening, is that we have to evaluate the estimated radiographic distance from the occlusal surface of our teeth to the roof of the pulp chamber, in prepared teeth or worn this distance will be shortened and we must be careful not to drill the furcal because in cases of calcifications empty feeling when entering the pulp chamber is decreased or absent. for example in this case , we knew in advance before entering the chamber, we would find a calcification,
which we previously removed with ultrasound or microburs , always aided by some kind of magnification like loupes or surgical microscope, performing a kind of groove around calcification, and later with a decay teaspoon remove more easily similarly , we look at the presence or absence of light in the root canals. in case of absence , it will indicate the presence of calcification of the system we will make more difficult the location , negotiation and instrumentation. but we should not forget to analyze the number of roots visible radiographically its estimated length, shape,
and in cases of first maxillary molars, the presence occasionally of a radiolucent line in the mesial root, we will indicate the presence of a second root canal, called mb2 or messiopalatal. well, today was it, i hope you enjoyed and see you at the next endotip . see you soon!!
