hi! this is elise mcmahon for expert village.comand in this video series we are talking about puppy care. if you would like to find outmore about my services, you can visit my website at canineheadstart.com. so in this video clipwe are going to be talking about chew toys. we have just finished talking a little bitabout a play toys for your puppies, play toys that you can play with your puppies and nowwe are going to talk about chew toys. puppies need to chew. they are actually born withno teeth and then their puppy teeth erupt, they have their puppy teeth for a little while,they are very sharp needle like teeth and then the puppy teeth start to fall out andin come the adult teeth. this is a very difficult time for the puppies. it is quite painfuland they need to chew, they need to get that
action going, so i am going to give you anexample of two types of chew toys that you can use. this is one that is actually it isa dried trachea; it is a trachea of a cow, it is a natural product that the dog can eat,trachea is actually very healthy for dogs and this will give long lasting chewing enjoymentfor the dog. another thing you can use is a greeny or a greeny like toy. this is actuallynot so much a toy because the puppy can actually eat this. one thing you want to be very carefulabout; these are both fairly large objects and you want to make sure that you give alarge chew toy to a puppy. even if it is a small puppy, if this were a pomeranian puppy,i would still give them this size chew toy. same thing for this; you want to have theobject much larger than the size of the mouth;
we do not want the puppy swallowing things.so when you are choosing chew toys for your puppies, do not go if you have got a smallbreed puppy and buy the teeniest little chew toy; buy a nice big chew toy, one that willlast them longer and too you do not risk them getting it caught in their mouth or them swallowingit.
